Beta Privacy Notice
Version 1, effective September 11, 2026
Accordly is in a curated private beta. This notice says what Accordly collects while you take part, why, who can read it, how long it is kept, and what you can do about it. Accordly never sells participant data.
Who is responsible
Accordly is run by its founder, Nathan Staab, in the United States. He is the person who reads support requests, reviews Safety reports, and, with your consent, reviews Exchanges during the beta.
Write to support@accordly.tech, or in the app open Profile → Get support and choose Privacy or data request.
What Accordly collects
- Your account
- Your email address, the display name Peers see, and when you signed in.
- Joining the beta
- Your statement that you are 18 or older and in the United States, and each document you accepted during enrollment, with its version and the time.
- Peers and invitations
- Who invited whom, the email address an invitation was sent to, and whether it was accepted, declined, cancelled, or expired. If you ask Accordly to stop sending you invitation email, your address is kept so the request can be honoured. Whoever invited you is never told.
- Exchanges
- What you write in an Exchange: Claims, replies, Reasons, the Position you choose, and any source link you add. Cooling-off pauses and Blocks are recorded too.
- Things you send to Accordly
- Safety reports and the content you choose to attach, Safety appeals, support requests, and Beta feedback. Beta feedback includes the app version, platform, the screen you were on, and the time; images are attached only if you choose them. The optional questions after an Exchange (whether you felt heard, and whether you understand the other view better) are stored as your answers.
- Usage measurement
- A short list of events, described below, stored under a pseudonymous id.
- Error reports
- When the app or the App API fails, an error report with the app version, platform, screen, error type, and a pseudonymous id. Email addresses, access tokens, source links, and Exchange content are removed before it is sent.
- The Beta waitlist
- Your email address, display name, phone platform, your statement that you are 18 or older and in the United States, and, if you give them, how you heard about Accordly and why you are interested. Accordly never asks for your political views.
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
Who can read it
An Exchange is private to the two people in it. Peers see your display name. Nobody else in the beta sees your email address.
The founder can read what is needed to answer a support request, review a Safety report, or, with your consent, review an Exchange as described below. The service providers listed further down process limited data only to operate and improve Accordly. Nothing is shared outside them, and nothing you write in an Exchange, feedback, or a quote from you is used to promote Accordly without your separate, written permission.
Founder review of Exchanges
Version 1, effective September 11, 2026
During the curated private beta, the founder may read the full content of your Exchanges for three purposes: product research, debugging, or safety. This is separate from everything else you accept when you join, and it is yours to decline.
- Each review has a stated purpose. The founder, the Exchange, the purpose, and the time are logged, and the log is kept for one year.
- Reviews happen only in a founder-only administration tool that requires a second sign-in factor. There are no shared logins, no bulk exports or downloads, and no browsing of the database directly.
- Every Exchange shows a line saying beta content may be reviewed.
- Permission lasts only for the curated private beta. It ends when the beta ends, when you withdraw it, or when Accordly offers participation without routine review, whichever comes first. Extending it would require your consent again.
If you decline, or later withdraw consent from Profile, routine founder review of your Exchanges stops and your beta access becomes inactive: you keep your account, can still read your Exchanges and delete your data, but cannot start or post in an Exchange until you consent again. You can consent again from the same place.
Safety reports are handled separately: content you attach to a report is reviewed as part of that report, whatever you chose here.
Usage measurement
Version 1, effective September 11, 2026
Accordly counts what the app is used for, so the founder can tell whether the beta works. Accordly measures this itself; no outside analytics company receives it.
The events are: finishing setup, the stages of an invitation, opening or starting an Exchange, the kind of reply posted, starting a Cooling-off pause, asking for Source Context, sending feedback, and the app version, platform, and errors that go with them.
Events carry no Exchange content, no free text, no source links, no email addresses, and no display names. They are stored under a random pseudonymous id. Only the founder can connect that id to an account, for product research or to help with a support request. Raw events are deleted after 90 days; daily totals that identify nobody are kept.
How long it is kept
- Your account and your Exchanges: while the account and the Exchange exist.
- Raw usage events: 90 days.
- Support requests and Beta feedback: 90 days after they are resolved, and never more than one year.
- The founder-review log: one year.
- Invitations that were declined, cancelled, or expired: details deleted 90 days after. An accepted invitation's record is kept while the Peer relationship lasts and for 90 days after it ends.
- Beta waitlist records: deleted after six months without renewed interest.
- Safety evidence: one year after its report is resolved; see the exception below.
Your choices and controls
- Export
- Download a copy of your own data as a file, from Profile.
- Delete your account
- Ask from Profile. You confirm it by signing in again, and deletion completes within 30 days. Your email address, Peers, invitations, feedback, and consent records are removed. In Exchanges you shared with someone else, what you wrote is replaced with "This person left Accordly" and your name with "Former participant", so the other person's side still makes sense.
- Withdraw founder-review consent
- From Profile, at any time, as described above.
- Invitation email
- Every invitation email has a link to stop invitation email to your address.
- The waitlist
- Leave it and erase your record from the link in the confirmation email or from the app. Unsubscribing from marketing email keeps your place on it.
If a control has not reached the version of the app you have yet, ask through Get support under Privacy or data request, and the founder will carry it out.
The Safety evidence exception
Deleting your account does not erase Safety evidence early. When a Safety report involves you, the report and the evidence attached to it are kept through review and for one year after it is resolved, even if you delete your account in the meantime. After that year the content is deleted. If a suspension or ban is still in force, the minimum needed to keep it in force stays: identifiers, the rule category, the action, its rationale, and dates. Everything else about you is removed on the normal schedule.
Service providers
- Supabase
- Hosts the database that holds accounts, Exchanges, and everything else above, and handles sign-in.
- Railway
- Runs the App API, the server the app talks to.
- Brevo
- Sends email: invitations, waitlist confirmations, support replies, and content-free notices.
- Sentry
- Receives error reports, with personal details removed as described above.
- Expo (EAS)
- Builds the app that Apple and Google distribute.
- Cloudflare
- Serves this website.
Apple and Google
The beta app is distributed through Apple's TestFlight and Google Play's testing program. When you install it that way, Apple or Google collects information under its own privacy policy, such as your device, installs, crashes, and any feedback you send through TestFlight or Google Play, and may share some of it with Accordly as the developer. Accordly does not control what Apple and Google collect.
When this notice changes
You are told about every change. You are asked to consent again only when a change would let more people read Exchange content, use it for a new purpose, collect a new kind of sensitive content, or continue routine review beyond the curated beta.
